Authors, Publicists and Publishers

I'm happy to accept and evaluate review copies of books and ARCs from authors, publicists, and publishers. I also participate in blog tours and author interviews. Because of the numerous inquiries I receive, I'm selective about the books I accept. I'm not always able to respond to each request individually, so if you haven't heard from me, please don't hesitate to contact me later with a different book.

Even though I may accept a copy of a book, I can't give a guarantee that I will do a review for every book and ARC I receive. But I will do a review for every book I read. Please feel free to browse through my blog to get an idea as to the style of reviews I write. My preferred genres include: mystery, horror, suspense, thrillers, light-hearted chick-lit, humor, literary fiction, historical fiction, memoir, and since I'm a quilter in my "spare" time, quilting.

I usually have no interest in books about empowerment, self-help, business, erotica, poetry and most romance. I'm seldom bothered by vulgarity, foul language, etc. as long as it's pertinent to the story and not just for the shock value it offers to the book.

I happily accept ebooks that are compatible with the Sony Reader. I'm actually surprised by how much I love my Sony Reader. I almost prefer this gadget to real books for ease of reading, the ability to change font size, make notes throughout a book, etc. I will consider accepting self published books on an individual basis.

Due to my own personal time constraints, I don't promise to have a book read and reviewed by a set date, with the exception of blog tours I may agree to participate in. However, if the review is needed by a specific date, I will do my best to be accommodating.

This blog is an extension of my life-long love of reading. I review every book I complete, and if I discontinue the book prior to completion, I will post a synopsis and a brief comment regarding the work and my reasons for not completing it. I endeavor to always give an honest review, that accurately reflect my feelings about the work. I won't promise you a positive review, but I try to be constructive and considerate. At this time, I publish reviews on this blog as well as Library Thing. I'm happy to post a review on the outlet of the author/publisher's choosing.
